Charmed OAI RAN

OAI RAN is an open source 5G radio network distributed by the Open Air Interface Software Alliance. OAI RAN is an implementation of the Open Radio Access Network (O-RAN) architecture, which is a disaggregated RAN architecture. It includes the Centralized Unit (CU), and the Distributed Unit (DU).

OAI RAN addresses the need for a cost-effective open source 5G radio network, as opposed to traditionally costly mobile networking software. It supports various configurations, including standalone and non-standalone modes, and can be deployed in a variety of environments, from private networks to public networks.

Operating the CU and the DU is typically a complex task, requiring a deep understanding of wireless software. Charmed OAI RAN makes it easy to operate those components from day 1 to day N, with full automation and observability. It integrates seamlessly with Charmed Aether SD-Core, Canonical’s 5G core network solution, to provide a complete 5G network solution.

Charmed OAI RAN is for private mobile networks. It offers a cost-effective and easy-to-use radio networking solution for any enterprise that needs on-site 5G mobile network connectivity for their devices and personnel. It is also the ideal open source distribution for any technology enthusiast who would like to deploy and test a 5G mobile network for their own connectivity needs. Use it in your farm, mine or oil rig, wherever you need 5G connectivity.
